Rolling Stones - 1995-07-03 - Paris, France (SBD)

I've recounted the tale of the one time I saw the Stones in October 1989 on several occasions. Let me just say it involved being far more worried about the upper deck at Shea Stadium collapsing than listening to what the Stones were playing!

This post goes forward to 1994, when The Stones released the album Voodoo Lounge, their first album since Steel Wheels, 5 years earlier. It was also their first album on Virgin Records, and the first without Bill Wyman. Voodoo Lounge met with critical acclaim, as many writers called it a return to the glory days of Exile on Main Street and Some Girls. The disc rose to #2 on the charts in the US and won the Grammy for best rock album. This soundboard recording captures the band near the end of their year long tour in support of Voodoo Lounge in Paris on July 3 1995, 21 years ago today.
