In February 2004, Elton John took up residence at the Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas for a nightly show entitled The Red Piano. Elton originally was slated to perform 25 shows a year at Caesar’s over 3 years, but wound up doing over 40 shows annually from 2003 through 2008, before ending the run with around 20 Las Vegas performances in 2009. After closing the Red Piano, Elton played numerous Face To face shows with Billy Joel, as well as embarking on his own tour. Unlike the Red Piano shows which only featured 15 songs, the set lists during his 2009 tour encompassed anywhere from 25 to 30 tunes each night.
