On January 12, 1993, 23 years ago today, at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, Cream was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. When Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce took the stage that night, it marked the first time in 25 years that they had played together in front of a live audience. For a few moments, all the tensions and anger that had ripped the band apart were forgotten, as Cream demonstrated why they were part of rock royalty, playing 3 of their classic tunes -- Sunshine of Your Love, Born Under A Bad Sign, and Crossroads. The band had rehearsed for their induction the previous day at the Power Plant Studios in LA. They had been wary about performing, but once they began to rehearse, it was as if they had never been apart. Of course, despite how well the 2 days went, it would be another 12 years before Cream again played together on stage!
