Another summer favorite here at So Many Roads, Mr. Margaritaville himself, the one and only Jimmy Buffett. The 2009 Summerzcool Tour, named after the song of the same name, saw
Jimmy and the Coral Reefers play 33 concerts between February and November. This FM broadcast captures Buffett right outside of Chicago, on August 15, 2009, 8 years ago today. Crack open a Landshark while you download this one.

Saw Jimmy back in June in Tampa. Wonderful show, he remembered Glenn Frey of the Eagles who gave Jimmy his first big break by letting him open for the band. He remembered Gregg Allman who'd died a week before with beautiful versions of Midnight Rider and Little Martha. And of course, the songs which have cemented his legacy. When I got tickets for the show ($128 per) my wife urged me to sell them. But she turned out being glad I didn't and even made me dress up in a pirate costume for the occasion!
