1983 - Stricken by multiple sclerosis, Ronnie Lane, the ex-bassist for both the Small Faces and Faces, organized a charity concert the Royal Albert Hall in London on September 20, 1983, 3 dozen years ago today, to raise money to combat the disease. The show featured a star-studded line-up of British musicians, including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Steve Winwood, Andy Fairweather Low, Bill Wyman, Kenney Jones and Charlie Watts. Lane appeared at the end of the show to thank the audience and the musicians, then took the vocals on the closing tune, Goodnight Irene. The concert marked the first time Clapton, Beck and Page, each a former lead guitarist for The Yardbirds, performed together on stage. This soundboard recording captures that historic event, which was so successful that it spawned 9 additional shows, all in the US. NOTE: I found the missing track - Lay Down Sally - you can download it here. In addition, the link to the whole show now contains that file.

Will enjoy this. Too bad these guitar slingers, all still with us, can't put it together again to do a rock and roll blues album and tour.
what happened to track 3 Lay Down Sally
Listened to this over the weekend. Phenomenal show, especially for the Jeff Beck and Steve Winwood tracks. I have two minor comments:
1. As the comment above notes, Lay Down Sally is missing. Any chance that can be found?
2. Track 15 is actually Led Boots, not Goodbye Pork Pie Hat.
Thanks for all you share with us. This is great!
@Alan R - thanks for te kind words - link to the missing track added above!
