1988 - In late 1987, CSNY reformed to record the album American Dreams. Neil Young and David Crosby had made a pact - if Crosby went into rehab to kick his drug addictions, Young would rejoin his former band mates to work on a new album. That disc, entitled, American Dreams, would eventually be released in November 1988, and go to #16 on the Billboard charts, though critical reviews were tepid. Despite the hopes that the reunion would be permanent, Young left the band long before the album hit the stores, Despite Neil’s departure, CSN decided to tour in the summer of 1988 in advance of the album’s release. This soundboard recording captures the band on September 6, 1988, 31 years ago today, in Santa Barbara.
