During the Grateful Dead’s 18 month hiatus from October 1974 to June 1976, Jerry Garcia engaged in a host of side projects. Those ranged from editing the Grateful Dead movie to recording new material to playing solo shows with assorted backing players. In addition, with the Dead off the road, Jerry took on their annual New Year's Eve spot. This soundboard recording captures that show at The keystone In Bereley on December 31 1975, 45 years ago today. He's backed by Jon Kahn on bass, Nicky Hopkins on keyboards and Greg Errico on drums (Ron Tutt was absent so he could play with Elvis Presley!) In addition, he gets som help from Matthew Kelly of Kingfish, as well as GD bandmates Bob Weir and Mickey Hart! The set list includes Auld Lang Syne, in keeping with our holiday song theme. By the way - I know this one has been officially released - grab it now as the link comes down tomorrow. Consider it a late Christmas present!
