In September 1982, Billy Joel released his 8th studio album, entitled the Nylon Curtain.  The disc dealt with pessimism about attaining the American dream, with Joel explaining that "It was during the Reagan years, and the diminishing horizons in America at the time [meant that] all of a sudden you weren't going to be able to inherit [the kind of life] your old man had."  The album peaked at #7 on the Billboard charts, selling well over 2 million copies, and was nominated for a Grammy for Album Of The Year. This soundboard recording captures Joel on tour in support of the album, on his home turf in Long Island, on December 29, 1982, 2 years ago today.
