On December 1, 1957, 67 years ago today, Buddy Holly made his first appearance of the Ed Sullivan show, as captured in this TV soundboard recording.  Holly played That'll Be The Day and Peggy Sue, and his appearance helped propel the first tune to the top of the charts in both the US and the UK.  Four young lads from Liverpool took notice, and eventually they would change their band name from The Quarrymen to The Beatles (beetles, similar to crickets!). And the rest as they say, is history!
