1986 - In 1985, Edie Brickell was invited to sing with friends from her old high school in a local folk rock group, New Bohemians. Soon after, she would join the band as lead singer. Three years later, their 1988 debut album, Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars, became surprise critical and commercial success. The album sold over 3 million copies and climbed to #4 on the Billboard charts. The single, What I Am, went to # 7 on the Billboard charts and received extensive airplay on MTV. This soundboard rec ording captures Edie soon after she joined the new Bohemians, on February 15, 1986, 31 years ago today, in Dallas.
