1980 - After having disbanded twice in the 1970s, once in 1972
and then again in 1976, Steppenwolf reformed for a 3rd time in 1980.
lead singer John Kay was the only member of the original band, however,
to be part of the groups 3d incarnation. When the band went on the road for a "reunion" tour, WNEW-FM was on hand at My Fathers place to broadcast their return to New Yor on February 16, 1980, 37 years ago today.
