Jimi Hendrix 1968 - #2. Here's the 2nd half of our Same Tour, Different Show entry featuring Jimi Hendrix in 1968. This one's a soundboard recording from the Miami Pop Festival from May 18, 1968, 49 years go today. Miami Pop actually took place in Hallandale, FL at Gulfstream race track (if you're a horse race fan, you'll know that Gulfstream was recently renovated, has hosted the Breeder's Cup, and annually hosts the Florida Derby, one of the major prep races for the Kentucky Derby). About 25,000 people attended Miami Pop, which was promoted by Richard O'Barry and Michael Lang, later famous as the promoter of Woodstock. In addition to Hendrix, the festival featured The Mothers of Invention, Blue Cheer, Chuck Berry, John Lee Hooker and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown.

Hey Speedy. This show was officially released by the Hendrix Estate about 2 years ago. This link should be disabled and everybody should go out and get the great CD.

The link speedy gives is to a BOOTLEG release that someone on Amazon is selling. I checked the official Jimi Hendrix web-site & there is no Miami Fest. release... So maybe can you re-up the link for this????
