The Firm - 1985-05-20 - Edinburgh, Scotland (SBD)
The Firm 1985 - #1: We brought you some Robert Plant earlier this month. so figured we should give equal time to Jimmy Page. For a brief time in the mid-1980's, Page, formerly of Led Zeppelin, and Paul Rodgers, formerly of Bad Company banded together to form The Firm. The released 2 albums, their self titled debut in February 1985, which went to #17 on the Billboard charts and a follow up disc year later, entitled Mean Business, which climbed to #22 on the charts. The biggest single was Radioactive, off the first album which Went to #28 on the charts and received extensive FM airplay. This soundboard recording captures The Firm on tour in support of their debut album, in Edinburgh, on May 20, 1985, 32 years go today. Download this one, then come back in 2 days for the 2nd half of this Sam Tour, Different Show entry. By the way, neither Page nor Rodgers included any material from their former bands in the set list, sticking to material they wrote with The Firm or tracks from their solo careers.

I saw the concert. A rather lack-lustre affair; an expensive show, a theatre a third empty, and a lot of talent without the material. Will be interested to see if the gig holds up 32 years after my memory was formed of the event.
