Incredibly, it will be 50 years ago June 1 that the Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play! That album launched what will forever be known as The Summer Of Love, and that's our theme for June.
So in June, we'll focus on bands that figured prominently in the Summer of Love, such as The Beatles, The Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, etc. In addition, we'll bring you the complete Monterrey Pop Festival, the historic event that launched the rock festival era that culminated with Woodstock 2 years later. Moreover, we'll branch out to cover all of 1967 in our posts, as it was a historic year for debut albums, innovation in music, and even Monkeemania.

Love this blog--it is a daily go to for great music. I know how much time you take, and know that it is GREATLY appreciated.
Where did the time go? But certainly much of the music from that magical year has stood the test of time very well. "We're doing things that haven't got a name yet" as Paul Kantner sang.
