Elton John - 2001 - #1: On October 1, 2001, Elton John released his 26th studio album, entitled Songs From The West Coast.  The album was somewhat of a  return to his past, as he wrote songs with Bernie Taupin and saw Nigel Olsen return full time to the band. Elton launched a US tour in support if the album on October 5.  As the tour wound down in December, he made an appearance of the A&E show Live By Request, which featured Elton taking calls from fans (one of whom was Billy Joel!) and playing their requests.
