Grateful Dead - 1980 - #1: In 1980, the Grateful Dead celebrated their 15th anniversary and the shows during the 2nd half of the year, in San Francisco, New Orleans and New York that included an acoustic set, get most of the attention. But some pretty fine playing was going throughout that year, as evidenced by the fact that portions of the May 6, 7, 15 and 16 shows, the entire September 3 show, and 2nd set of the September 4 show, and the entire November 28 and 30 shows, have all been officially released. This soundboard matrix recording captures the band near the end of that historic year, in Oakland on December  30, 1980, 39 years ago today.
