The Counting Crows are the founders of the Greybird Foundation, a charitable organization designed to address numerous social issues in the US..  Each of their concerts supports a particular cause in the city where they are performing, and often times they use their shows to conduct food drives for local food food banks. They also played at NetAid in 1999, helping raise funds to end hunger in Africa. In addition, they often contribute memorabilia to Hungerthon's annual fund raising auctions.
