The Grateful Dead 1977 - #1: While the 2nd half of 1977 doesn't get quite the attention that the legendary Spring Tour does, the Grateful Dead continued to deliver exceptional live shows from September to December of that year.. In fact, the very first show of the fall, September 3 at Englishtown (my 1st Dead show!) was officially released as part of the Dick's Picks series. Concerts from November 4, November 5 and December 29 also were officially released, as were portions of shows from October 7, 11, 14 and !6, November 2 and December 30. We'll bring you 4 from the October portion of the Fall Tour this month, starting with this soundboard recording from Portland from October 1, 1977, 4 decades ago this very day. I think this is actually 10/2 - the playlist you listed is for 10/1, but the actual tracks mirror the next night in Portland.
I just checked the download and its 10-1. 10-1 strts with promised Land an d 10-2 starts with cCasey Jones The racks are also labeled with the date and these are all 1977-10-01.
