Traffic - 1967-09-12 - Stockholm, Sweden (SBD)

1960s - #3: In April 1967,  Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason. joined forces in Birmingham, UK to form Traffic. Some seven months later,  they would release their first album Mr. Fantasy featuring such tunes as Paper Sun, Coloured Rain, Smiling Phases and of course, Dear Mr. Fantasy.  The disc would go to #16 on the UK charts, and #88 on the US Billboard charts. Incredibly, Dave Mason would leave the band before the album was released, only to return in 1968 to work on the band's 2nd album, and suddenly depart again, this time for good.  This soundboard recording captures Traffic before the release of their debut album with Mason, in Sweden on September 12, 1968, 53 years ago today,
