I've only seen Jorma once, on July 14, 1979 in Asbury Park NJ. While my buddies and I we really enjoyed the acoustic set, we actually left halfway through the electric set, as the band seemed to be jamming endlessly, with little direction or purpose. That may have reflected the fact that Jorma was a bit directionless at the time, even experimenting with some punk music, which was far removed from his musical roots. In any event, this soundboard recording captures Jorma at his acoustic best, with a little help from Rick Danko, in Troy on on November 23, 1987, 32 years ago today.

Well that remembers good memories of seeing Jorma and Jack Casady together for an accoustic set opening at the Paris Olympia for Manfred Mann and Procol Harum, and they really set the stage on fire with their acoustic blues, even if my wife preferred Manfred Mann afterward, which indeed had a little more punchy singalong in their music.
