Elton John opened 2010 by partnering with Billy Joel on a Face to Face Tour, then closed the year on the road with another collaborator., Leon Russell, In between, starting in April, he launched a tour with his regular backing band that took him to North America and Europe. The set list for these shows included just 1 new tune - Never Too Old, which would be featured on The Union album released later that year. The other 2 dozen songs each night were a greatest hits compilation from his long storied career. This soundboard recording captures Captain Fantastic during that 2010 tour, in Youngstown on May 1, 2010, 16 ago today.

I love the versions of Rocket Man he was playing around that time - stretched out to triple the original song or more - can't wait to hear this !!

Speedy, thanks much! This is an excellent recording, and captures a very good period of Elton performances. There are several soundboards of shows from the 2010 tour, but this is the first time to come across this show in Youngstown, Ohio. The first, and maybe only time, he's performed there. He and the band delivered the goods!

As usual, you have a wealth of knowledge share. Again, this isba great show. I guess the reception was so good that first time Elton made it a point to return. Always great that some very big artists make the effort to play in some of the not-so-major locales.
