Here’s another “Same Tour, Different Show” entry that reflects a different time in the music world, when bands played 2 shows in one night! On September 2, 1968, The Doors flew out of embark on a 17 day tour of Europe flying out of Kennedy International Airport in Queens, NY to launch their first European tour. The band’s 3rd album, Waiting for The Sun, which had been released in July had gone to #1 on the US charts, as did the single, Hello I Love You. This soundboard recording captures the early show in Stockholm, Sweden on the last night of the tour on September 20, 1968, 46 years ago today. Download this one, then come back in an hour for part 2.
