ARGENTINA - In the fall of 1988, rock legends Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Sting, and Peter Gabriel, along with Tracy Chapman, and Youssou N'Dour, banded together for a series of concerts called Human Rights Now! The 20 shows, held on 5 continents, were designed to raise awareness of the work done by Amnesty International to fight for human rights across the globe. At each concert location, the artists and Amnesty leaders held a press conference to discuss human rights, In addition, concert-goers were provided with copies of the Universal Declaration of Human rights and provided an opportunity to sign the Declaration themselves and join the worldwide human rights movement. This soundboard recording captures Springsteen’s set in Argentina on the last night of the tour, October 15, 1988, 32 years ago today. Download this one, and while you listen, go here to support the work of Amnesty International.
