According to SI Twining, who runs the excellent Bruce Hornsby website www.bruuuce.com, this soundboard recording from December 16, 1995, 18 years ago today captures one of Hornsby’s longest concerts, clocking in just shy of 3 hours. Twining noted that Bruce attempted to finish the show several times, but wound up playing well beyond midnight. This marathon performance included a host of wonderful covers, including Scarlet Begonias and Sugaree from his Grateful Dead days, a version of Dylan’s Quinn The Eskimo, and a rendition of The Band’s The Night The Drove Old Dixie Down, not to mention a very appropriate Christmas medley!
