We’ve featured numerous Rockpalast concerts here at So Many Roads, but few have garnered the attention of this Van Morrison show from December 19, 1998, 15 years ago this day. The concert, which was billed as Rockpalast Christmas Show, was broadcast live, and word spread quickly via the internet that Van had been in top form. That was followed by numerous internet postings of both audio and video from the show, furthering the buzz. The fact that trombonist Fred Wesley and saxophonist Candy Dulfer joined Van for the show generated even interest in the concert. The show includes Van covering some great standards, such as That's Life and My Funny Valentine, Fortunately, all of us can now see and hear what all the commotion was about as this FM recording captures every note of this now legendary show.
