I just heard from JustDave and the good news is that everything's a-ok with him. The bad news is that his wonderful blog fell victim to Blogger's random purge of sites they think are vbiolating DMCA rules.
Here's hoping that Justdave restarts his site in the near futuire. He provided a vast assirtment of high quality shows and his site is laready missed.
JustDave, my friend, have a wonderful holiday and we hope to see you back in the new year with a new site. And as soon as you're back up and running, let me know and we'll get the word out!

Thanks for the update speedy, One question though, how does this happen and how do you avoid this for anyone that might be interested in one day starting a blog. I noticed that you always remove posts once you find out that the release is official, is that one of Dave's problems. thanks again and keep up the great work.
JustDave never posted anything official. He's simply the victim of some body from one of the record companies or a band finding his site and reporting him to google. While those of us who run blogs and collect live shows feel that trading unreleased shows without any money changng hands is a fine practice, most record comapneis and some bands don't agree. Its their music and they want the right to control it any way they see fit. Google takes no chances - if someone reports you, they take you down. We may not like it, but that's just how it is. That's why I save a copy of myblog every day, in case I fall victim, I can restart it easily. I also make sure the blog is not searchable by search engines, which makes it less likely to be found. I rely on word on mouth and links to other sites to drive traffic. Its a crapshoot but I can't worry about it. I just post what I can and hope for the best!

Speedy, why don't record companies and or artists realize that blogs like yours,Daves, Dinos ecc actually help to stimulate interest in an artists music instead of feeling that somehow they are being infringed upon. When I download a show from a blog such as yours it makes me more likely to seek out more stuff that is being sold in stores. Also if record companies are so uptight then release everything that is being bootlegged and make them all official. And by releasing them I don't mean deceiving the public by saying a show is live when actually they pile on layers and layers of studio overdubs as well as numerious edits. That's why people like myself seek out blogs such as yours because while the sound may not be perfect and pristine at least its real, Live music wasn't meant to sound homaginized . People want the real deal warts and all. Also do you agree that the record buseness is dying anyway. It is almost impossible to actually go to a store anymore an find an album or cd by an artist. you usally have to special order what you want. that is if its even still in print. Almost all you see in a store by an artist anymore are best of cds. Remember decades ago when you would go to a record shop and could find anything you wanted and the person waiting on you really knew music and some even played in a band. how times have changed in the last 20 to 40 years and for the worse. The record companies should back off. Do you really think Mick Jagger or Robert Plant cares if we hear a 40 yearold show that was never released . Keith Richards even jokes about it
Yep - the music business is dying because rather than use the new technology, they hide from it. The Grateful dead understood the right way to do business - they allowed the fans to trade tapes, even soundboard tapes, and it actually stimulated record sales and concert ticket sales. Too bad the rest of the industry never figured it out.
right on speedy, and also where are the NEW rock legends , music today is so much artificial crap. I challenge anyone to name one new artist or band today that will stand the test of time like the ones we grew up with . why is this and when did music go from the great stuff that we listened to to the crap that is out there today. Even if you go to a concert today to hear a new artist , can we even be sure that its them playing live or lipsynking and pretending to play to background music,,Pathetic

First Just Dave, and now Brooklyn Steve's excellent site has disappeared. Hopefully both will be back soon. Thanks to everyone who make the effort to share live music with the fans. The music business has changed greatly, but it's the hardcore fans who frequent sites like these who still support bands by attending live shows and purchasing official releases.
speedy. sorry to hear about Brooklyn steve and just dave, one question please , do you think Mr Zimmerman's buddy the good ole Web Sheriff has anything to do with this. heard other blogs discussing him lately. on another note couldn't agree more with some of the other comments. yes artists should be grateful to blogs like yours for stimulating interest in their work , and yes most of todays music sucks if it can even be called music, thanks and keep up the great work
I don't think Web Sheriff was the culprit this time. Justdave didn't post any Dylan so doubt Web Sheriff was involved there. Brooklyn steve was posting some officially released stuff, which may be what did him in.
