Sly & The Family Stone was yet another band that emerged from the San Francisco music scene in the mid 1960s, They were also another band to release their debut album in 1967!  While that disc, entitled A Whole New Thing. did not charts, CBS record executive Clive Davis saw potential in the band and persuaded them to write some music with more commercial appeal.  Sly produced the single Dance To The Music, which was released in February 1968 and went to #8 on the Billboard charts!
