The Kinks were invited to play at Monterrey Pop, but couldn't secure work visa and were forced to decline.  They weren't the only legendary British band to run  into that issue, as we'll see in a post later this month.  This soundboard recording captures them 8 years after the Summer Of love, in London on June 14, 1975,  42 years ago today.  The concert is a performance of the band's concept album A Soap Opera, which tells the story of a musician named Starmaker, who changes places with an "ordinary man" named Norman to better understand life.
