On May 17, 1977, 3 dozen years ago today, the Grateful Dead took their Spring tour to the deep south for a run of 5 shows in Alabama, Georgia and Florida. We can post the first 2 here but the last 3 of the run on May 19, 21 and 22 were all officially released as Dick's Picks (although the May 22 CDs do not include the complete show- come back on May 22 to see what you were missing). Just more evidence as to how strong this tour was in the minds not just of Deadheads but also of the the band's long time tape archivist Dick Latvala. The file for the Dead Tuscaloosa show is damaged. Only the first 3 songs decompressed properly. I also have that Band 1985.1.6 show you're looking for.
